January 19th, 2010

Today is the first day I can say I’m really uncomfortable and I just wanted to write something about it. Sure, I’ve had back pain, stomach pain, all sorts of problems here and there, but today I’m just feeling kinda bad all over. My back hurts, I’m tired, but most of all, my lower stomach/groin area hurts! Every step I take, every time I move, I feel the achy-ness. I know things could be worse so I don’t want to complain, but today is an uncomfortable day!

Gotta pee!

January 17th, 2010

Well, the baby must have moved into a different position because not only do I feel her moving a lot again, but I have an urge to pee almost constantly! It started a few days ago where I would get a strong urge to pee that would only last for a few seconds. Now, she must be permanently pushing on the bladder, because I feel the urge to go a lot! In fact, I got up to pee 4 times in 15 minutes after going to bed last night. This stretched out, luckily, during the night, but not by much.

Lazy/Smart Baby

January 16th, 2010

Well, I went to the doctor for my 36 week appointment yesterday and told my doctor I have Braxton Hicks pretty much all the time and because of them, I never feel the baby move anymore! I told her I might feel one or two movements every few days, then there will be a day of activity, then another 2 days of almost nothing. She send me for a Non Stress Test at the hospital just to make sure the baby was ok. Of course, as soon as they put the monitor on me Baby started kicking like she hasn’t done in forever! She was just moving around like crazy! I told Jeff she’s lazy and only moves when she knows she has to. Jeff said she’s just smart. She knows there’s no where to go right now so why waste her energy? ha! The nurse who did the NST said Baby is a very happy healthy baby and let me go after the minimum 20 minutes. Yay!

While at my doctor appointment, the doctor also checked my cervix. It is thinning but only dilated about a fingertip. I’m happy about that because I need this baby to stay put a little longer so we can get more done (and so she can be as healthy as possible!) After she checked my cervix, I had a lot of pressure and cramping for the next few hours, and a little discomfort for the rest of the night. I feel better today though.

I was sure I had gained at least 5 pounds between my last two appointments because of how huge my stomach is getting. Actually, I somehow didn’t gain any, so I guess my stomach is just pushing out farther without the weight gain. I’ve been so hungry lately and eating uncontrollably. I’ve also been a lot less active. It’s getting harder to do much and I find myself laying on the couch or taking naps a lot these days!

36 Weeks Exactly, Pictures!

January 15th, 2010

Oh my… only 4 weeks to go! Sometime this week, I noticed my stomach is definitely larger! It’s getting harder to do things, and my stomach is bumping into something (or many things) every day. It all just started this week. Also, the baby seems to be really low in my stomach. A few nights ago, I asked Jeff to massage my lower back which has been hurting, and I sat straddling a folding chair. I bent forward slightly to rest on the back of the chair and my stomach was resting on the seat of the chair! I couldn’t believe it hit the seat of the chair! Here are the pictures from this morning!

Pictures from Fall

Ok, here are my bruises, 4 days after my fall down the stairs!

35/35 OMG!!! Pictures!

January 8th, 2010

Today is the much-anticipated 35/35! That means I’m 35 weeks pregnant, 35 days to go! Oh my! I hope I last until then because I still have so much to do! Here are some pictures! Baby seems to be really low in my stomach, maybe you can’t tell from the pictures but I feel her so low! The strange thing is, I can’t feel her pushing any harder on my bladder. I don’t feel like I’m peeing an uncontrollable amount like some people seem to talk about. Oh well, I’m not complaining!

Hello Braxton Hicks Contractions!

January 7th, 2010

I’ve been having Braxton Hicks contractions all day! ALL DAY! It really feels like they don’t stop. My stomach has been one tight knot for most of the day. I’ve been relaxing. I’ve had over 2 gallons of water so it’s not from dehydration. A retired nurse told me this is my body preparing to soften the cervix in preparation for labor. Ok, that’s fine by me, as long is it needs a month’s worth of this because I’m not ready to give birth yet! ahhhhhhh!!!!! If this doesn’t stop I’m calling my doctor, though I’ve been reading online that it’s pretty normal for some people.

January 5th, 2010

Well, I had a few good months of no falls, so what could I expect? This morning I got out of bed started walking down the stairs to the kitchen. I had on socks without tread, on our hardwood floors and I slipped a good 7-8 stairs before stopping myself! I can’t believe I fell again! Luckily, I was holding onto the handrail and fell backwards, using my other elbow and outer thigh to catch my fall. I came away with just some bruises and a sore body, but no problems with baby. Geesh… I need to put myself in a bubble or something!

Why did I just throw up?

January 3rd, 2010

I woke up this morning and had some ice cream as usual. Well, I had a lot of ice cream, but once again, this is usual. A few hours later Jeff and I went on a slow 20 minute jog. I got home and immediately ate a banana, kiwi, and apple.  Then I took my prenatal vitamin. Within 10 minutes, I was throwing up! I threw up all the fruit I ate. Maybe it was because of the prenatal on a too-empty stomach, or maybe the baby is saying, “more ice cream, less healthy stuff”. Anyway, this is the first time I’ve thrown up since I’ve been pregnant and I’ve taken prenatals the entire time.

Burst of energy

January 2nd, 2010

Last night, I got a burst of energy and for some reason felt the need to really start unpacking and cleaning our house. Up to this point, I have been working on it really slowly and there’s no way the house is ready for baby at all. I’ve been out the past two days buying cute clothes and other stuff the baby needs, but as far as the cleaning goes, I just haven’t been motivated. Until last night… I asked Jeff to work on his computer upstairs where I was and I figured I would lay in bed and knit or read. Instead, I just started cleaning and unpacking bathroom stuff! I got the big disaster bathroom completely clean in just a short amount of time, plus a few loads of laundry done! I hope my motivation continues!
